Recording consent guide
This guide explains how to use Concord AI's consent controls responsibly. It is not legal advice — consult counsel for your specific jurisdictions and use cases.
- 1
Know your jurisdiction
Recording-consent law varies by country and, in the US, by state (one-party vs. all-party consent). Confirm the applicable rule for every participant's location before capturing a meeting.
- 2
Make the recording indicator visible
Every capture method in Concord AI — meeting bot, desktop companion, browser — shows an explicit, persistent recording indicator to all participants.
- 3
Use the consent reminder
Enable the pre-meeting consent reminder in meeting settings so external attendees are notified before capture begins.
- 4
Respect a decline
If a participant declines to be recorded, pause or stop capture for that session rather than continuing silently.
- 5
Document retention choices
Tell participants, where relevant, how long raw audio and transcripts will be retained and how to request deletion.
